Harrington & Richardson Arms Company Worcester, Massachusetts. The original H&R firm was in business for over a century from 1871 to 1986. This business was formed to make auto-ejecting pocket revolvers initially associated with Wesson & Harrington. A new revolver with a removable cylinder-axis pin was introduced in 1876 and the first double action pattern appeared in 1878. By 1908 3000000 guns had been made. The following models were made. The American, Bicycle revolver, H&R Bulldog, Premier, Police automatic model, Police bicycle model, Police premier, Safety hammer, Vest Pocket, Young America, Young America Bulldog. After 1904 guns were distinguished by model dates and pattern number instead of names. In the first decade of the 20th century H&R turned to a Webley & Scott type automatic pistol. It was sold in .25 and .32 but production was relative meagre. Production between the world wars and thereafter concentrated on inexpensive revolvers.
