The Norinco is a Chinese company that started off coping successful firearms from other manufacturers. First were models from the east block’s Tula Tokarev Armory, later they added popular models from the West to compete on the open market. This pistol is a copy of the well known Colt 1911 A1, the very successful design from John Browning. See Colt 1911. It forms the perfect platform to develop into a competition pistol. It is a .45 ACP caliber and the lock-up is the successful Parallel rule of Browning design. This pistol still has a single stack magazine but the magazine release has been extended. Other differences on this competition pistol are a beveled magazine well and the magazine safety has been removed to improve the trigger. High visibility sights replaced the A1 sights. The grip safety can be locked to deactivate it and the safety catch is extended. The back of the hammer was rounded and the tang on the grip was removed to stop the web of the hand from getting cut. A pedal was fitted left hand side above the trigger and Pagmayer grips were fitted to secure the hold. A compensator controls the pistol’s recoil.
