The manufacturer of this transitional pistol is unknown but it came from the one of the firearm building cities of Belgium, one and a half century ago. The mechanism of this very small, single shot pistol is very simple. The breech of the pistol swivel to the left, to opens the chamber for loading of the cartridge and removing the casing after shooting. The pistol is chambered for the 5 mm rim-fire cartridge that is not manufactured anymore. This pistol is important for collectors because it was manufactured during the period, after Flobert designed the rim-fire cartridge. It was manufactured at the same time when the single shot saloon pistols were popular and it shows the ability of these Belgian gunsmiths to design a different mechanism, to the swivel-action, that was cheap and functional. It is classified as an antique in the USA
